Missouri Outdoor Communicators Annual Scholarship

Missouri Outdoor Communicators Annual Scholarship

By Ryan Miloshewski

MOC

Every year, members of the Missouri Outdoor Communicators convene on a scenic town in Missouri to innovate and promote their organization. For the past sixteen years, a scholarship winner has joined them. The Buck Rogers Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a young man or woman exemplifying excellence in outdoor communication at their respective universities.

Currently, the scholarship includes a $1,500 stipend, a one year membership to the Missouri Outdoors Communicators, and an all-expense paid trip to the annual conference.  The conference will be held September 11-13 in Branson, Missouri this year. Seminars, a silent auction, fishing, and numerous instances to interact with veteran outdoor communicators make it an exceptional event.

New to MOC this year is the scholarship committee, consisting of John Neporadny, Tyler Mahoney, and myself. Changes have been made to the qualifications for the scholarship, making it easier than ever to apply. Mainly, instead of needing five published works, you now only need a term paper to be eligible.

If you are an aspiring writer and devoted to the outdoors, consider this scholarship as your school year continues on. The benefits are numerous, it takes minimal effort to apply and you might join a group of men and women who challenge and consistently develop your skills.

For more information on the requirements or applying, visit www.missourioutdoorcommunicators.org/scholarships.asp or contact any member of the scholarship committee.
